first off, the price was ridiculous. $50 for a 16 oz steak I can get better steak at longhorn for cheaper, tasted terrible. Mac and cheese tasted microwaved. Service was slow only seen her once and that was after getting her attention. supposed to be good and looks good in photos but will be our first and last time going. I will say the owner is very nice and personable but does not make up for the high prices and low quality.
This was my first experience there and overall I was not impressed. For starters we arrived on a Saturday night and was unable to order 1/2 of the menu which was highly disappointing considering what we was able to order was mediocre at best. The food took an hour to come out and when it did it was clearly either overcooked or undercooked on the steaks. The chicken was cooked well and tasted good. This was not the case with the fish that tasted like they found it in the sewer as it was very greasy and pond tasting. We made our waitress aware of the issues which was responded with an unsympathetic attitude you could definitely tell she was just having a busy night. She did offer to place another order for something else but given that it took so long the first time and we live an hour away we declined. When we went to pay we were shocked that our bill was $75 for 2 people I had a steak salad and my husband ordered but unable to eat the catfish. This restaurant has potential I can see that but considering that it is located in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE…it shows that the service and quality of food and staff were less important than what I would find in the city. 3/10 recommend overall if you go early and plan to pay a lot for your meal.
First time eating here and certainly will be the last , had the 2 piece catfish and it was awful , tasted like lake water and was super greasy , mentioned that it was not good to our server and she just said *uh ok* , no mention of getting it removed or replacing it which is shocking considering my plate was 24.99 for 2 pieces of fish and basic sides , I expect it to actually taste decent but sadly not the case here . So I ended up just paying for it and being done. Half the menu was unavailable it seemed , as other people in my party were unable to order what they wanted. It took almost an hour for our food to even come out. The mac and cheese was just ok but at least eatable. The best part of the whole meal was the cheddar biscuits, those actually tasted pretty good. But overall the entire experience was god awful and just not worth the price. Maybe I just went on a bad night or something but I won't be repeating to see if that's the case. I'd avoid and seek food elsewhere as you will probably have a better experience and actually be cheaper. I've had better fish at Captain D's.
Worst overall dinner ever experienced in my 78 yrs. Wait time 1 hr. At 5:30 told they were out of ribeye and strip steak. Got a poor cut 8 oz fillet steak that was supposed to be 12oz. I eat a 7oz fillet in Guntersville all the time and know the difference. Wife waited 20 min to use bathroom. Crazy bad overall.
Best steak I believe I have ever eaten. Cooked to exact Medium like I ordered.Server was very polite and took good care of us. The price is not for everyone so don’t think you gonna be at cheap. My opinion it was worth every penny. Fried peach pie reminded me of Grandmas .
We had dinner at Ole Gin Steakhouse LLC tonight, and everything was absolutely delicious! The prime rib, New York strip, and ribeye were incredibly tender—each one perfectly seasoned and cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Cajun shrimp had just the right amount of char and spice. The catfish was perfectly breaded and full of flavor. I didn’t try the mozzarella sticks or the loaded sidewinder fries myself, but everyone else raved about them. We also brought home the dessert sampler, and every one of the five desserts we picked was a hit—rich, sweet, and satisfying. It was so good that I forgot to take pictures before digging in. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing. The steaks were grilled with the greatest char that was amazing and perfect. This tasted like steaks we cooked at house but better. The Cesar Salad was great and fresh romaine was perfect. The croutons they used for the Cesar were something like I never had before and were amazing as well. To have a local place to have such great food was perfect and worth the trip from Pelham, AL.
So this is supposed to be a top-notch place in the area and I had to try it because I was disappointed at a place called bama bucks. This one was clearly better but I felt that the Macedonia ribeye had too much of a fat cap. I also don't think this was either choice or prime cut. I have been to some high-end steakhouses where you actually pick the steak you want grilled. I asked for the steak medium rare and it was almost like seared on both sides and pretty raw. It's a good thing because I actually can eat red meat. The mac and cheese was phenomenal and the baked potato was really good. I asked for a Caesar salad but there was no romaine in it. It was a very finely chopped salad with regular iceberg lettuce. I believe the owner was the one taking pictures and was a very nice gentleman. I feel that I could have cooked a better steak myself. I'm not saying it's bad. I just have some very good cooking skills so it's hard to impress me. I also had a dessert which I was not able to finish due to all the food. The portions are pretty big and so is the prices.
